Arnt Vier Kvalvik

What is life really like after a traumatic accident? Do you suddenly become a different person, or do you simply look at the world with differently?

On a late evening in June, Arnt is walking home with a friend. One single impulsive choice changed his life forever. 16-year-old Arnt was fearless and spontaneous. The two friends cross a train bridge, the idea comes quickly. Arnt jumps up on one side of the bridge span and starts climbing up the construction. He reaches the top, then it happens.

His left arm touches the high voltage line. 15,000 volts tear through his body. Lifeless, he lies on top of the brigde while the electricity burns his skin. 1.5 hours later, the rescue crew are in place and they finally get the 16-year-old down from the bridge. The time following that fatal evening was followed by many battles. He won the battle for his life. But lost his left arm and both legs above the knees. An extreme event that would have killed most peoples spirit.

Today, Arnt lives more independently then most people his age. He owns his own apartment, has passed his driving license test and is studying at university. The accident stole a lot from Arnt, but not his will to succeed.
